Wood Technology (Pvt) Limited is a Zimbabwean company incorporated under the laws of Zimbabwe. The company was incorporated in 2013 but started operating in 2014 initially in Msasa, before branching out to Workington in Southerton in 2016. In 2018 it expanded its operation to include doors manufacturing and timber conversion .Its Msasa operation is located at 51 A, Steven Drive while the Workington operation is at number 11 Lisburn Road.
Business
The initial main business of Wood Technology was dealing in boards and board’s related products with prime focus on the cutting and edging of melamine boards. It then expanded its operation to include manufacturing of doors and conversion of all timbers including hardwood. Both branches are equipped with “cutting and edging “equipment and sell all types of boards including melamine, super wood and bison boards. The factory for doors manufacturing and timber conversation is located at Lisburn road.
A) Cutting and Edging
“Cutting and edging” is done at both our branches. Wood Technology has invested in equipment that produces a superior quality finish on boards that we cut and edge. Various products are made from these boards but the main ones are:
- Modern Fitted Kitchens
- Build in cupboards
- Office Partioning
- Furniture
In addition to the above, we also stock a wide range of melamine boards, various sizes of plywood, super wood and bison boards.
B) Doors Manufacturing.
In 2018, Wood Technology invested some money in setting up a door manufacturing process. The process has a cold press system and has a capacity to do more than one thousand doors a month. We now have the capacity to produce various doors which include:
- Solid core and semi solid Interior and Exterior Flush Doors
- Hollow Core Interior and Exterior Flush Doors
- Deep moulded doors, 2, 4 and 6 Panels
- Fire rated doors
- Purpose made doors on flush doors
- Pine Button & Double Clad Doors
C) Timber Section
The timber processing section is well equipped and can convert all timbers to both construction standard sizes and customers’ requirements. The section can also produce most types of mouldings using any type of timber as per customers’ requirements.
The Market
The company has a decent foot print in the cutting and edging business in the country because of its workmanship and is also competing favourably in the doors and timber section with old established companies.
